After saying yes to collaborating on a book, I thought to myself :what have I done?” But, I was fortunate to not only be collaborating on a book with Pache, but to end up having her to guide and encourage me along the way. Without telling me what to do, Pache helped me to understand the process and figure out how to tell my story. Her guidance and her allowing me to brainstorm and talk through what I was thinking resulted in me not only writing my book, but feeling good about sharing my story. God places visions and dreams upon everyone, it’s up to the individual to put his/her dreams into fruition. I shared my childhood dream of having my own cleaning and organizing company with Pache, and she simply said I should do it. I was listening but not hearing her until she said, I’ll help you; I’ll even create a logo. After the phone call, I truly did not take her serious but the very next day I got a text from Pache with a logo for my company Masama Cares Home Organizing and Event Cleaning. I now have several contracts and homes to clean and organize. My vision and dream would not have happened if I had not shared it with Ms. Felton. She inspired me with her gift and ability to be patience, listen and coach. Pache and I worked on several outreach projects together especially the kids coat drives each winter. This love of serving and helping others bonded us together even more. She is always real supportive and a positive person to talk to. On another note, I had been writing for years but never did anything to make it public. Literally, the next day I opened Facebook and the 1st post in my timeline was Pache’s call for authors to collaborate on a book “Loving you is hurting me”. This process of writing was difficult at times. I experienced writers block and wanted to quit MANY times for different reasons. Pache would check on me regularly to make sure I was staying on task and when I fell off task she didn’t make me feel worse but she was patient she listened and she talked me through each moment until I was okay. Even if it wasn’t connected to my writing, she was a shoulder to lean on and a guide through each tough moment. I remember asking her to be my ” responsible adult” because I needed someone to hold me accountable and that she did. Calls, text, emails whatever it took she did to ensure I wasn’t without a life line to make it because quitting was NOT an option. I can tell you because of her sincere love, honest feedback, listening ear and determination to see others win I became a published author and am now working on my 2nd collaboration book along with my 1st solo poetry project. There are so many things I can say about my sister & friend that would fill a book by itself but I will say I thank God she found and answered her calling to help others because my journey would not have been the same without her in it.
